LOCATION: The village of Bukovets is located in North-Central Bulgaria and it is part of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo District. The monastery of St Yoan Rilski is situated on the right bank of the Tsarpetrovska River, 3-4 km to the west of the village. Tsar Ivan Sratsimir had the monastery built and its architecture reminds the one of the court monasteries in Veliko Tarnovo.
